"We are very pleased to be recognized as an innovative industry leader by Connected World magazine and our customers," says Robert Mckeeman, Utility's CEO.
Tucker, GA & St. George, UT (PRWEB) June 30, 2011
Utility, Inc. was named recipient of the ‘M2M in Action’ award at the Connected World Value Chain Awards Gala in Chicago on June 15, 2011 for delivering an innovative combination of vehicle cellular and wireless router hardware and AVL / Vehicle Diagnostics / RFID tag software as a service in production with a number of leading First Responders and Utilities across the U.S.
Wilson Electronics nominated Utility for the award. Wilson’s cellular signal boosting technology fills coverage gaps and provides a stronger, more reliable cellular signal for data communications, which according to Utility, makes their solution work even better. For its part, Wilson received an award for being a ‘Technology Enabler.’
The Connected World magazine Value Chain Awards honor the most successful corporate adopters of Machine to Machine (M2M) technology and connected devices, as well as the solution providers that make their success possible.
Receiving the 2011 award in the ‘M2M in Action’ category from Connected World’s Peggy Smedley was Utility CEO Robert McKeeman. “We are very pleased to be recognized as an innovative industry leader by Connected World magazine and our customers. And our customers appreciate the additional capability and reliability that Wilson Electronics cellular boosters adds to our solution,” says McKeeman. “The fact that our vehicle cellular routers and Wilson cell boosters are both manufactured here in the USA makes it particularly gratifying to be recognized for this award.”
Brian Allred, Wilson’s senior account manager, M2M group, said, “Utility deserved the award for being such a key player in the M2M space.”
“Utility has tightly integrated our signal boosting technology with their cellular vehicle router technology to provide a reliable tamper-proof solution that helps their customers operate more safely and effectively,” he said. “Utility and Wilson Electronics have been working together for several years and we look forward to continuing our successful business relationship.”
“Each booster is made with patented technology that makes it transparent on cellular carriers networks, but still provides the maximum power and benefit to the end-user. This ensures that our technology will help customers like Utility provide even more reliable data connectivity for mission critical business operations.”
The Value Chain Awards Gala was held this year at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. The Connected World Conference brought together the M2M and connected devices community, from business professionals to techies, and everyone in between. Attendees heard from the four major U.S. carriers, and witnessed the unveiling of Connected World magazine’s newest report, The Coming Age of M2M and Connected Devices, among many other highlights.
“Between the outstanding Value Chain Awards winners for 2011, and the incredible content at the Connected World Conference this year, we are completely surrounded by innovation that many would not have believed possible just a few years ago,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director, Connected World magazine. “What an exciting time to be a part of this industry.”
“Though we are now awarding the Value Chain Awards for the seventh year, I am continually amazed at the ways in which corporate adopters are improving their businesses through M2M and connected devices,” says Mike Carrozzo, chief editor, Connected World magazine.
