With these new features, we're making Filter Forge easier and more familiar to graphic artists.
Alexandria, VA (PRWEB) June 30, 2011
Filter Forge, Inc. today released the second beta test stage of Filter Forge 3.0, a high-end plugin for Adobe Photoshop allowing computer artists to generate textures, create visual effects, enhance photos, and process images. The second beta stage introduces support for Bezier curves, adds an Edge Detector component, improves preview interactivity and adds scripting support for noises.
The highlight of this beta is the support for hand-drawn Bezier curves, which are commonly used in computer graphics for creating tone curves, bevel profiles, shapes and more. Filter Forge already offers a wide range of tools for generating curves mathematically, but many artists missed the ability to draw curves manually, as they used to do in other popular software tools.
Other notable additions in Beta stage 2 include the Edge Detector component that finds edges in images using several methods, an expanded scripting API that now offers support for noise functions, and an interactive before/after separator allowing users to see the original image and the applied effect side-by-side. The beta testing is open for anyone -- no registration required. The beta version is available at http://www.filterforge.com/download/beta3/index.html. The beta is a fully functional 30-day trial version of the Filter Forge 3.0 Professional edition. All registered Filter Forge users can get a free beta key that allows them to use the beta version until the end of the beta period. Users who find and report bugs will be rewarded with free copies of Filter Forge, which will be granted after Filter Forge 3.0 becomes commercially available. The commercial version is planned for release by fall 2011.
