A new designer has been picked as a "Fresh Find' for this weekend's California Gift Show. Buyers will see what all the fuss is about at designer Jeanne Chinn's JCLA Inc. booth (#2145 in South Hall) at the LA Convention Center for the company's first trade show.
Actor Jeanne Chinn’s ah-ha moment has turned into a fashion must have for pet lovers. Tired of soiled linings forcing her handbags into early retirement, Jeanne designed and manufactured the first and only couture bag with snap out, washable linings. Her designs zero in on what makes life easier for her customers. Jeanne's stubborn design sensibilities set her apart from masses of designers who are most concerned with what's easier and cheaper to manufacture. JCLA (Jeanne Chinn, Los Angeles) values attention to detail, as evidenced by the sculpted golden purse paws that adorn the bottom of every bag.
Chinn is a bulldog when it comes to animal rescue. "When people mistreat and discard animals like old toys it creates an endless cycle of overflowing shelters and senseless euthanizations. Being a pet owner is a serious commitment that should continue for the rest of that animal's life." JCLA actively donates proceeds from their sales to various animal rescue organizations and the media has taken notice. As a sponsor for the Beverly Hills Mutt Club holiday benefit, Jeanne was interviewed by Fox 11 news about her totes and the importance of adopting pets. Next, KTLA5 News invited Chinn to appear on their "Give Pets A Chance: Royal Edition" segment. Jeanne's bags were featured with doggie couture products. In the royal wedding theme, she brought in two English rescue dogs dressed in tuxedos. Jeanne's efforts resulted in both dogs finding forever homes. Women Owned Business-LA singled out JCLA for its charity contributions. JCLA INC's Facebook page offers daily updates on animal adoption, pet care, new designs, and fun photos.
Publications who have written up JCLA "Rescue Me" totes in their 'best of couture' categories include; Runway Magazine, Cesar's Way, Pupstyle, Doggies & Stuff, BellaDog, Chihuahua Connection, Dogloading, Rockstar Puppy, Snobby Doggy, and Pet Face. JCLA totes have been named the ‘it’ bag for Hollywood's pet enthusiasts. Houston's LIFE+DOG magazine crowned JCLA "Haute Tote" in their "PICK of the LITTER."
The tote comes with two interchangeable linings: micro mink leopard, and black cotton with gold signature accents. The easy snap out feature comes in handy for quick cleaning, mood swings, or changes in the weather. The luxury totes add class to a sometimes tacky pet themed market. Rescue me totes have been purchased as pet carriers (there are built in leash clips), every day carry all bags, diaper bags, and gym bags. With sassy names like: 'Te Quiero Chihuahua', 'I Love New Yorkie', 'Flirty Feline', & ''Doggie Style', each bag flaunts a fun pet silhouette sporting its own jeweled collar, luxurious liners, and those yummy golden paws. The 100% cotton canvas shell is available in pink, white, and red. This animal friendly bag is intentionally crafted without the use of leather or fur. Retailing for $210, the totes are sold in exclusive pet boutiques across the US, with the demand being supported by JCLA's online store at http://www.jclaboutique.com. Distributors continue to line up internationally from Canada, the UK, Japan, Austria, Sweden, Scotland, Australia, China, and Norway. The appeal not only crosses borders, it crosses generations. The youngest Rescue me tote owner is 8 yrs old, and the oldest is 98!
The totes owe their popularity to word of mouth and it doesn't hurt when those mouths include tastemakers like E!'s Fashion Police commentator & Spokesmodel for Madonna’s Material Girl line, Kelly Osbourne.
