Since launching its first water-resistant case in 1895, TAG Heuer has been committed to designing the highest quality timepieces that stand up to the demanding challenges of professional diving, sailing and other water sports. The brand today underscored this dedication with the introduction of the Aquaracer 500M Automatic Chronograph and the full-black Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5.

Aquaracer 500M Automatic Chronograph
Launched in 2009, the Aquaracer 500M series answered the call of diving enthusiasts who wanted an exacting timepiece that was robust and refined. To leverage the success of this collection, TAG Heuer now is unveiling the Aquaracer 500M Automatic Chronograph, a significantly larger, 44 mm timepiece that takes serious diving functionally to a new extreme. The first chronograph in the series, this exclusive model delivers a higher degree of accuracy with its 1/10th of a second chronograph function. A unidirectional turning bezel that shows elapsed minutes further ensures precise dive-time measurement. Highly luminescent markers on the hands and indexes, as well as an orange-tipped second hand, provide at-a-glance readability under water or in dim light. Additionally, the sapphire crystal and caseback are scratch-resistant and anti-reflection treated for optimum visibility.
To prevent damage to the timepiece and its movements, the Aquaracer 500M Automatic Chronograph features an automatic helium valve that releases, upon decompression, any gases that infiltrate the watch during a deep dive. A fine-brushed, screw-in crown with double safety gaskets further protects the timepiece from water or dust penetration.
The black-dialed chronograph is offered on a choice of stainless steel bracelet or black rubber strap, both of which are equipped with safety push buttons and a solid-steel folding clasp designed to prevent accidental opening. The integrated extension system allows wearers to adjust the strap so that it fits comfortably over a wet suit.
Scheduled to hit stores in November 2010, the Aquaracer 500M Automatic Chronograph will retail in the U.S. and Canada for about $3,150.

Full-black Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5
Featuring the same definitive attributes as the other pieces in the Aquaracer 500M series, the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5 ratchets up the style quotient with its jet-black, titanium carbide-coated case and “soft-touch” rubber-coated unidirectional turning bezel and screw-in crown. The evocative, all-black design is further enhanced with bright yellow-green luminescent markers on the black-finished hands and indexes. Available on a black rubber strap with solid titanium clasp, this full-black, 43 mm piece is the ultimate sports watch and fashion statement.
Offered in October 2010, the Aquaracer 500M Calibre 5 will retail in the U.S. and Canada for approximately $2,750.

TAG Heuer Celebrates 150 Years of Watchmaking Innovation
The year 2010 marks TAG Heuer’s 150th anniversary – a milestone that celebrates the brand’s evolution from a small workshop in the Swiss Jura Mountains to its status today as a leader in the luxury watch market. Since its inception, TAG Heuer has demonstrated a passion for accurately measuring even the smallest increment of time. It is the only watchmaker to develop a mechanical automatic chronograph movement that displays 1/10th, 1/100th and 1/1000th of a second, as well as the only brand to capture 1/10,000th of a second. The brand’s 150-year legacy is peppered with displays of engineering prowess, including the world’s first oscillating pinion, patented in 1887, and the recently launched Monaco V4, which features a double-patented belt-driven movement that shatters the basic tenets of how a watch keeps time. Through a constant pursuit of excellence and innovation, TAG Heuer creates timepieces that are a defining symbol of state-of-the-art originality.
