Five California State Park Beaches Invite Visitors to Chill & Grill this Summer with New Barbecues, Thanks to Farmer John

Public-private partnership funds projects state parks couldn’t address without support from the private sector.

The All-American beachside BBQ will seem even more tasty this summer, thanks to a special program from Farmer John and California State Parks. Announced today, Farmer John expects to raise $60,000 for new outdoor grills at some of the busiest beaches in the country. The five beaches include Huntington State Beach, San Onofre State Beach, Point Mugu State Beach, Carpinteria State Beach, and Doheny State Beach, which are spread throughout Los Angeles, Orange and Santa Barbara counties.

“The Farmer John Southern California beaches campaign will benefit the millions of Southern California residents who visit and grill and play at state park beaches each and every year,” said Greg Longstreet, President, Farmer John. “We’ve developed our own recipe for each of the beaches involved, to add to the local flavor and in honor of state park visitors.”

The program challenges consumers to support their local beaches, while shopping at Ralph’s supermarkets in July, followed by other popular Southern California supermarkets later in the month. Farmer John will donate one dollar towards grill equipment along the California coastline when consumers purchase ten dollars worth of select Farmer John products. Farmer John has pledged to donate up to $60,000, so each beach will receive $12,500 to enhance the outdoor grilling experience for beach-goers.

The Web site (http://www.grillingFJ.com) and the Farmer John Facebook page (facebook.com/farmerjohn) provide educational facts about the program and offer the option to share the cause with friends, engage with fellow social media users as well as search and share local recipes.

The promotion will be active in Ralph’s and Vons this summer. The program was created by X! Promos (http://www.xpromos.com) and Good Solutions Group (http://www.goodsolutionsgroup.com).
