Music Filled Summer for Foster Teens at House of Blues Venues Nationwide

House of Blues has joined forces with national non-profit, Hear the Music Live, to provide free tickets to music events nationwide. To date, House of Blues venues have donated close to two thousand tickets so that foster teens can attend their first concert.

Over 2000 foster pre-teens and teens have seen their first concerts at House of Blues Anaheim and other House of Blues venues nationwide. Thank you!

“House of Blues is pleased to unite with Hear the Music Live in providing teens the opportunity to experience concerts in person,” said Ben Weeden, Chief Operating Officer, House of Blues.

Hear the Music Live is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that was created to share live music events and concerts with foster teens and pre-teens living in residential group homes. Hear the Music Live is the vision of founder, Steven Nornhold. Mr. Nornhold has a life-long passion for music and understands that some teens are missing out on opportunities that many others take for granted. With the support of House of Blues venues, many foster teens nationwide have had the opportunity to attend their first concert and experience the true joy of music performed live!

House of Blues Anaheim was the first House of Blues venue to begin donating tickets to local foster teens in September 2010. Since that time, hundreds of foster youth have attended their first concert at the venue. Malia Rummell, a junior promoter at House of Blues Anaheim attended her first concert at age twelve-No Doubt and says the experience meant, “…I was growing up and could do cool things with my friends. Music was and still is my life.” Malia went on to say, “It’s been great working with Hear the Music Live. Music really brings people together and it’s so nice to know that Hear the Music Live is bringing families together through music.”

Founded in 1992, The 13 House of Blues are located throughout the United States and form the country’s pre-eminent group of intimate music venues. Each features state-of-the-art sound and lighting technology in one-of-a-kind custom designed environments aimed to bring fans as close as possible to the artists. Every location’s restaurant and bar is adorned with signature original folk-art – part of the world’s largest collection – combined with the House of Blues legendary hospitality and tantalizing cuisine.

Foster teens are thrilled to be attending their first concerts at Live Nation and House of Blues venues this summer! 100 Monkeys, Owl City, Good Charlotte, and Neon Trees are just a few of the many talented artists that have inspired foster teens this summer at House of Blues venues nationwide.
