TDCI Inc. BuyDesign streamlines the sales process for customized products. It helps companies that manufacture products with a wide range of features, options, and dimensions increase sales by becoming ‘easy to do business with’ while at the same time reducing order processing time, cost, and errors.

BuyDesign 7.5 contains dozens of enhancements that are the result of extensive user interaction, responses to technology advances, and partner collaboration. It provides BuyDesign users with the tools to:

  •     Improve sales productivity and effectiveness
  •     Build even more powerful configuration models to address an even wider range of needs
  •     Speed configuration model development, testing, and delivery
  •     Utilize BuyDesign Configurator with Cloud-based applications such as Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 Online

BuyDesign Channel Sales has been extensively enhanced in a number of different areas. Key aspects of the user interface have been thoughtfully refined, while new features have been introduced to streamline the quoting and ordering process and expand quote management capabilities. Manufacturers now have more tools for structuring the way sales people are presented with products and options. Sales people have more tools for faster, easier ways to perform many of their daily functions.

BuyDesign Configurator includes several important enhancements to the run-time engine, the design studio, and the underlying modeling paradigm. A whole new way of using the configurator with multiple items – a feature called Interlinked Configurations – is being introduced, along with a number of refinements and new features that will help designers develop, test and deliver powerful configuration models faster than ever. In addition, exciting new Cloud-based and Hosted deployment options are now available.

BuyDesign Flex2D has been enhanced to enable asynchronous processing - e.g. for using it to generate DWG or DXF files for consumption in a CAD system.

BuyDesign Flex3D now provides compatibility with both SolidWorks 2011 and PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 5.

BuyDesign FlexDocs now has even more powerful capabilities to automate dynamic generation of just about any type of single- or multi-part Microsoft Word or PDF document, from proposals to submittals, contracts, warranties, and more.

“Release 7.5 represents another important milestone in the continued growth of BuyDesign,” said Dan DeMuth, TDCI President. “With more and more companies adopting BuyDesign as their strategic Configure-Price-Quote platform, we are gaining the benefit of broad user input from a wide range of industries. That input combined with a focus on usability and on leveraging advances in technology for such things as Cloud Computing, parametric 3D CAD, and dynamic document generation, is enabling us to deliver a product configurator and guided selling solution that is very much in tune with the real-world needs of manufacturers and distributors today.”
