The judging consisted of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance, and content. In order to win this award level, the site had to meet strict guidelines in each area — an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each quarter.
Located in Bellingham, WA, Sterling Life Insurance Company provides insurance solutions for members in all 50 states. Sterling offers a variety of group and individual Medicare insurance plans including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and Medicare Prescription Drug plans. Since launching in May, 2010, the new site has brought in significant results, including a 65% jump for organic search traffic, a 257% increase in visits to the site, a 45% decrease in bounce rate, and an increase in average depth of visit to over five pages. Most importantly, a 2000% average increase in visits to plan types in each state exceeds Sterling’s goal for the new site. MedTouch increased these visits by optimizing plan data with key search terms for plan types and local counties.
