Celerant’s focus on information security for its employees and customers has been ably demonstrated by the strategic decision to pursue the international benchmark for security, ISO 27001. We are thrilled to have been awarded certification to this globally recognised management system standard.
The security of data and information is firmly aligned and embedded within all Celerant’s businesses goals and objectives. Illustrated when Geoff Linnell, Celerant’s Group CIO recently mentioned “To have been audited by the BSI and formally awarded the ISO 27001 certification for Celerant Holdings, the UK office and all projects run within Celerant UK is an honour the whole company feels proud to have achieved.”
Celerant’s customers, suppliers and partners see information leakage in the media on a daily basis and certification to ISO 27001 will reassure these parties that Celerant are in a strong position to mitigate these threats which have become a major modern day problem in businesses worldwide.
Marcus Turle, author of ‘Data Protection Laws of the World’, a guide to privacy laws in over sixty countries, and the ‘Freedom of Information Manual’, the leading practitioner’s text in the UK, described the standard as follows: “Certification under the ISO series isn't just about IT staff doing things properly (although that is one part of it). The system is a series of documented processes that allow organisations to manage their information security risks right across the business. Data security is now a key factor for service integrity and brand management.”
Celerant say that 75% of new clients now either implicitly or explicitly expect consulting partners to demonstrate compliance to the ISO 27001 standard. And Celerant chose formally to adopt the standard to demonstrate it could continue to build close and trusting professional relationships with its clients.
“Celerant's certification demonstrates a clear and decisive commitment to maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and security,” said Marcus Turle.
“Information is critical to the operation and perhaps even the survival of your organisation,” said Lorraine King, product Marketing Manager Risk Portfolio at BSI. “Certification to ISO 27001 has already been proved to work in practice and to deliver substantial business benefits as demonstrated by Celerant.”
