“It is very important as the town grows to have a place for youth to go in the afternoons,” J. Hunter Eddins Gentel, a Workers' Compensation attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin.

J. Hunter Eddins Gentel, a Workers' Compensation attorney at the Law Offices of James Scott Farrin, has been named to the Board of Directors of the Wake County Boys & Girls Club, Zebulon Chapter.

As a board member her primary responsibilities are to assist with fundraisers, events and campaigns. As one of the board’s youngest members, she also brings new ideas to the group.

Eddins Gentel is particularly excited about the club’s campaign to build a new facility. The club currently services 400 children. When the new 1500-square-foot facility is completed in 2012, it will be able to serve more than 1,000.

“It is very important as the town grows to have a place for youth to go in the afternoons,” she said. “Out in the country, there are just not as many options for youth as there are in larger cities.”

Though she is active in the firm’s various social service activities, J. Hunter Eddins Gentel is excited about contributing to the community where she was born, raised and currently lives.

“It is important to me to do local community service,” she said. “It’s great that I can be active in social service events in Durham through the firm, but it is also important to give back to my own community.”
