The tournament is sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, Yonex, KTSF, ABC Café, Hilton San Francisco Airport and YSO Management. Total prize money of $20,000 will go to winners placing in men’s and women’s singles, doubles and mixed doubles.

"We are thrilled to host this tournament for the third year, because it gives additional exposure to this fast-growing sport. This year's tournament promises to bring out top-tier talent, while giving a record number of youths the opportunity to participate in a competitive sport" said Victor Lo, Vice President of Bay Badminton Center. “Badminton has always been portrayed as the game that people play in their backyard or at a family picnic. People often have a misconception that badminton lacks intensity and serious competition. Little do they know that badminton requires as much, if not more skills and stamina as the other popular sports like tennis or basketball. I’m excited that the community will get to experience what a fast-paced sport badminton truly is.” said Wesley Pan, badminton aficionado and longtime member at Bay Badminton Center. “Badminton is an exciting sport and the second most played sport in the world. It is the fastest racket sport in the world with shuttlecocks travelling at speeds up to 200 mph.” adds former World Champion and current coach at Bay Badminton Center, Halim Haryanto Ho.
Bay Badminton is the most visible dedicated badminton facility in the Bay Area; aiming to provide exceptional services for the badminton enthusiast and to expose more people to the exciting sport of badminton. Tournament schedule can be found at:
