While the quiet M&A and financing markets over the last three years have caused many law firms to struggle to keep their doors open, the corporate and securities practice at Los Angeles-based law firm Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff has thrived and continues to make its mark in the deal community. The team, which represents middle-market companies across a wide range of industries, kept active through the recession and, in just the past six months, has advised clients in 14 transactions collectively valued at more than $1 billion.

Since December 2010, Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff has represented clients in M&A and financing transactions in the food, restaurant, beauty, air and global transportation logistics, auto financing, consumer product, distribution, software, medical device and wealth management industries. In addition to advising middle-market companies as M&A deal counsel, the firm also has played a significant role as counsel to shareholders of larger corporations. In this capacity, the Rutter Hobbs & Davidoff team represented a minority shareholder of Mrs. Cubbison’s when Hostess Brands sold the company to Sugar Foods Corporation. Likewise, the president and CEO of OPI entrusted the firm in one of the largest deals in Southern California when the company was sold to Coty.
