Trash cans are on the front line of keeping the streets clean and a city shouldn’t go without them, whether that city is in Florida, Pennsylvania or anywhere else.
Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) July 01, 2011
Last month, a story came out of Pittsburgh that was both surprising and unfortunate. According to KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin, about 50 trash cans, valued at $1,000 each, have been stolen right off the streets in some Pittsburgh neighborhoods. Although it seems like an odd item to steal, the iron trash cans, when sold for scrap, can bring in up to $2,000 each.
All the way down in Boca Raton, Fla., Chris George heard the story and knew he had to do something about it. As CEO of Highland Products Group, a site furnishings company offering a wide selection of commercial trash cans, George knew he was in a unique position to help the city of Pittsburgh in this time of need. He has decided to offer the city similar trash cans to the ones that were stolen, but for 50% less than what the city paid for the originals. “Replacing over 50 trash cans is not only a financial burden for the tax payers, but an environmental burden, as well. Trash cans are on the front line of keeping the streets clean and a city shouldn’t go without them, whether that city is in Florida, Pennsylvania or anywhere else.”
The trash cans that Highland is offering will not only be less expensive than the stolen trash cans, they also include additional security and mounting features that will make the trash cans more difficult for potential thieves to steal.
