Inakube, a revolutionary new puzzle, has just been launched on Apple’s iTunes AppStore.
“We’ve developed a new concept in the world of 3D sliding puzzles,” says Ian McColm, who came up with the initial idea of Inakube. “It’s the natural successor to the Rubik’s cube.”
“For the first time ever,” he explains, “the gamer is tasked with reconstructing a 3D sculpture that is held within the cube itself. Inakube is as engaging as it is addictive.”
While conceived by McColm, the puzzle was written by developer Brian Skidmore who, like McColm, works in the broadcast industry.
“Unlike traditional cube puzzles,” says Skidmore, “where the idea is to manipulate images or colours on the face of the cube, Inakube offers gamers a new world of complexity by asking them to recreate an immersive three dimensional model within a set of translucent cubes.”
The operation of Inakube “could not be easier,” adds McColm. “The idea is to manipulate the cubes adjacent to the empty cube or the Ghost Cube in order to reconstruct the 3D model in the centre.
Inakube players are offered:
- A selection of 3D models and backgrounds
- Practice Mode or Challenge Mode
- Varying levels of difficulty
- Ability to hide or show the Ghost Cube
- Zoom facility (by ‘pinching’ in or out)
