London (PRWEB UK) 1 July 2011
At the exclusive BVCA awards dinner last night, XLN was announced as the national winner of the ‘PE-Backed Management Team of the Year (Mid Market)’ category in the British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) Portfolio Company Awards 2011.
The BVCA event was attended by private equity and venture capital professionals, media, and management teams from private equity backed companies.
XLN Telecom was recently listed as #6 in the 2011 Sunday Times Buyout Track and #84 in the Sunday Times Profit Track 2011 having posted a 100% profit increase from 2008 to 2010.
Christian Nellemann, founder and Group CEO said: “Winning this award is a fitting tribute to what I believe is one of the best management teams in the UK. XLN is going from strength to strength and without our dedicated and enthusiastic team none of it would be possible. In our new CFO and COO we’ve added further depth and strength and we look forward to pushing the business forward in the years to come.”
In September 2010 ECI Partners, a UK mid-market private equity firm, invested in XLN Telecom alongside management, acquiring a majority stake from Zeus Private Equity. The additional investment from ECI gives XLN considerable financial resources to act as a key consolidator in its market.
