Trinity, TX (PRWEB) July 03, 2011
ONE of the world’s leading divorce companies has launched a dedicated service in Texas to help couples save thousands of dollars in legal fees.
Divorce Online is already one of the most successful DIY divorce services in Europe and has dealt with more than 65,000 couples in the past 12 years.
The company is a major part of the growing phenomenon of couples getting divorced in cyberspace, which is a far cheaper and quicker alternative to going through the courts.
Now the company has chosen to go Stateside and has chosen Texas as its launch pad. And unlike other American DIY divorce websites, Divorce Online Texas is actually based in the state itself and is employing the expertise of experienced Texan paralegals.
Mark Keenan, managing director of Divorce Online Texas, said: “Divorce attorneys in the US charge an average of $3,500 – even for an uncontested case.
“There are a number of online divorce websites operating in the US but many of them provide generic documents and are based outside of Texas. What we can provide is knowledge of the local courts and the different ways of doing things in each county.
“We will also be providing a personal service with telephone support and 24/7 case access.”
Divorce is big business for lawyers in the USA, with latest figures estimating that about 40% of marriages fail to go the distance. Last year 1.4million Americans spent a staggering $28billion on legal fees with the average divorce costing between $15,000 and $20,000.
But a growing number of couples who agree to end their marriage amicably and in an uncontested manner are turning to DIY divorce instead of spending months – and thousands of dollars – going through the courts. In the USA it is believed that as many as 95% of divorces are uncontested, so there is no need to go through lawyers.
Divorce Online Texas is offering ultra quickie divorces in Texas from just $149 and is also planning to launch a similar service in Florida later in the year.
Texas has a high divorce rate, which is currently 3.3% per 1,000 of the population. It has opened its office in Trinity, which is managed by newly-appointed divorce paralegal Marty Shaw, who has a strong background of specifically dealing with divorce in Texas.
Divorce Online Texas uses its DivorceTrak system to help couples file their uncontested divorce papers and deal with arrangements surrounding children, alimony, child support payments and agreed financial settlement.
Marty added: “We know that every penny counts, especially when you are going through the expense of a divorce.
“The Divorce Online brand started in Europe in 1999 and has been used by over 65,000 satisfied couples. But we are delighted that it has now been improved and developed to assist customers in Texas obtain their uncontested divorce without having to spend their hard-earned pay checks on attorneys.
“Everything you need to file your divorce is dealt with in easy-to-follow stages, from creating your essential documents, filing your documents, service and obtaining the final decree from the Judge.”
