Studio K, an Orlando-based entertainment studio featuring the largest offering of dance and dance fitness classes for adults in Central Florida, a photography division, and a national public relations agency was selected as a shooting location for the upcoming reality series titled, Dance Moms for the Lifetime Network.

The new dance series, set to begin airing on Lifetime beginning July 13, centers around a talented collection of young dancers from the Pittsburgh, PA area, ages 6 through 13 and their mothers, traveling the country participating in a variety of dance competitions.

This is the fourth Los Angeles entertainment production that has selected Studio K since the studio originated in October 2010. Most recently, the studio was chosen in June 2011 as the Orlando casting location for the two Hollywood upcoming films, Step Up 4 and Rock of Ages featuring Tom Cruise, Catherine Zeta Jones, Alec Baldwin and Julianne Hough of the leading television series, Dancing With The Stars.

Prior to this, Studio K was selected as the first studio in the state of Florida to welcome artist, Jessica Sutta, formerly of the hit musical group, The Pussycat Dolls. Sutta came to Studio K to debut her new dance style class, the “Sutta Strut,” and meet with members and staff. In May 2010, Studio K was also chosen as the first studio in the state of Florida to welcome LA-based fitness personality, Anna-Rita Sloss, the creator of HOT HULA fitness and featured cast member of the successful DVD workout series Turbo Jam by nationally acclaimed fitness star, Chalene Johnson.

“It has been such a tremendous honor to be chosen to work with Lifetime on this project,” said Owner and CEO of Studio K, Kristin Weissman. “To be able to assist in the growth of the entertainment industry and contribute to the economic development within Central Florida by offering a location for partners to help secure projects for Orlando, has been a goal of our brand as an entertainment studio since its inception. Receiving opportunities such as this within our first year in operation continues to inspire our team to strive even higher, and we look forward to much more to come for Orlando and for Studio K.”
