Belmont, CA (PRWEB) July 05, 2011
BlogHer Inc., the leading participatory news, entertainment and information network for women online, today announced the lead sponsors for its seventh annual conference. This year’s event is BlogHer’s biggest yet, hosting 3,000 attendees at the San Diego Marriott Marquis and Convention Center on August 4-7. Joining BlogHer’s returning Partners are Platinum sponsors Ford, HTC, The Hershey Company, Johnson & Johnson and Knorr®.
“As in years past, BlogHer’s top sponsors deliver custom activations and programming that significantly enhance the conference experience itself, all while making it possible for the greatest diversity of bloggers to affordably attend,” said Elisa Camahort Page, BlogHer Co-founder and COO. “The major brands sponsoring BlogHer recognize its growing audience and the significance of word of mouth recommendations coming from our community. Eighty percent of BlogHer’s audience bought a product based on a recommendation from a blog in the last year, and brands are taking an increasingly active role in engaging this influential consumer, both online and in person at BlogHer Conferences.”
Procter and Gamble, PepsiCo, Hillshire Farm/Jimmy Dean Each Return to BlogHer ‘11 as highest-level Partners
Procter and Gamble will return with their “Home Away From Home” on the trade show floor, spotlighting some of their most popular brands. In addition, they will sponsor Life Well Lived Day, a pre-conference event on Thursday August 5, devoted to personal development and pampering.
“P&G is excited to sponsor BlogHer for the second year in a row,” said Dave McCracken, External Relations, P&G. “Bloggers have become an integral part of many of our brands’ programs, so we look forward to the opportunity to interact with them in this one-on-one setting and thank them for their support. This year, we’ll have two opportunities to talk with bloggers, through our “renovated” Home Away From Home experience, as well as a new event this year, Life Well Lived Day. Through these experiences, we hope to bring to life how P&G creates innovations that will improve life for bloggers, their families and their readers.”
PepsiCo and brands including Quaker, Tropicana and Gatorade, return to BlogHer for the third year with a unique activation focused on getting connected, inspired and having fun. In addition to a floor space featuring a 3D experience with popular food and beverage brands, they will introduce PepsiCo Place, a hub for bloggers to share “old school” hand written messages and words of inspiration with fellow conference companions. The hub will also be home to special brand pods giving conference goers a place to fill their senses, find friends and meet some celebrities.
“PepsiCo, along with brands like Stacy’s and Sabra, couldn’t be more excited about partnering with BlogHer again,” said Jamie Stein, Director of Digital Initiatives. “These are some of the most passionate, interesting and inspirational bloggers around. We love to come and learn from them and have a good time.”
With food blogging being one of BlogHer’s most popular categories, Jimmy Dean and Hillshire Farm will together return to the event. Hillshire Farm will feature an eatery on the BlogHer expo floor and deliver two food styling and photography workshop sessions. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the star of the brand’s new marketing campaign, launching on July 4, 2011. Jimmy Dean will be officially launching its partnership with Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry® Campaign, which aims to end childhood hunger in America by 2015. In addition, back by popular demand, will be an appearance by The Jimmy Dean Sun, who will be arriving in style in his new Great Day Delivery Truck.
Ford, HTC, The Hershey Company, Johnson & Johnson, and Knorr Join BlogHer ‘11 as Platinum Level Sponsors
First time sponsor, Ford Motor Company, will honor its own history as home to multiple generations of employees and customers by sponsoring BlogHer’s first-ever Family Picnic on August 7. Attendees who have brought their families to BlogHer will enjoy a catered picnic and the opportunity to test drive Ford vehicles on-site.
“We’re so proud to be joining the BlogHer community for this groundbreaking event,” said Scott Monty, Global Digital Communications for Ford Motor Company. “After 108 years, Ford is still a family-run company, and we make a full lineup of vehicles – small, medium and large; cars, utilities and tracks – for families of all sizes and needs. This is just a great fit for us, and we look forward to interacting with BlogHer attendees.”
Another first time sponsor, HTC, one of the country’s fastest growing mobile communications companies, will be sponsoring BlogHer’s 4th annual Voices of the Year community keynote and reception, and is launching an “Innovator Award” to reward one blogger on the cutting edge of communications. Attendees can also participate in HTC hosted meet-ups to learn more about your ideal phone, see the latest products, and relax at the HTC Quietly Brilliant lounge.
The Hershey Company is also returning to BlogHer this year with activations for both S’mores and Twizzlers® Candy. The S’mores ‘Snacktivity’ Suite is back by popular demand and will feature a California twist in a nod to the conference’s San Diego location. New this year, Twizzlers Candy invites attendees to take their own ‘road trip’ through the Conference to see some ‘sweet’ landmark destinations.
Johnson & Johnson has been a supporter of BlogHer for the last four years and is returning as a Platinum Sponsor. They will be hosting an on-site suite, highlighting their corporate philanthropic programs, and introducing “&You”, an initiative using mobile technology to facilitate local volunteerism.
The BlogHer Annual Conference is also proud to welcome Ford Motor Company and Knorr® as Platinum level sponsors.
