200 years of London family tailoring tradition launches its first ever on-line short film..and new website.

Celeb fav Brit heritage brand Peckham Rye makers of ties, scarves and accessories with over 200 years of London family tailoring tradition today launch their new animated website with over three hundred individual unique pieces displayed.

Featuring not only their eclectic range of gents’ London cut clothing – from Peckham Ryes (ties) to Tilbury Docks (socks), the cockney firm have gone just that bit further to bring much of their Carnaby stores charm and character online.

Taking up the story in 1799 is Tommy McCarthy, an Irish boy living in London’s notorious East End, who at 14 years old is both a soldier and military tailor, and then to his own children tailoring at the age of 9 in true Victorian Oliver Twist style!

It’s from Tommy though that viewers learn how the family has in 200 years cut its way across the far flung corners of the Great British Empire and back to Peckham.

Commented brand marketing consultant Geoff Smith “we already have a growing army of fans who ask for copies of the family’s photographs in the store - now it’s great to be able to share all that with people who can’t get to meet us, but already own pieces by the brand, purchased at any of the stores that carry Peckham Rye world-wide”.

With foreign language versions in the pipeline, and Peckham Rye clothing coupons being readied, the website gives the feeling of vintage meets contemporary and history meets high fashion.

Our unique tech-savvy tie up allows us to tell the story of our much loved, British heritage brand with a taste of the unique shop experience that Peckham Rye has become loved for.
