Acumen (http://www.projectacumen.com) has announced the official release of Acumen Fuse® 2.1. Fuse is an enterprise project analysis software which uses libraries of metrics to offer not only an advanced schedule analysis, but also analyzes cost forecast accuracy, risk model realism, earned value, and project performance. With the latest update to Fuse, Version 2.1, Acumen has added an API (Application Programming Interface) engine, increased flexibility in the Fuse dashboard and new metrics for evaluating project performance.
“Fuse 2.1 is another key milestone in our continued roadmap of true enterprise project analytics. The recent surge in large-scale enterprise implementations is further validation that we are successfully delivering what our user base is asking for. We understand the need for software to be flexible enough to meet each customer’s specific needs. In order to address this, we continually look for ways to expand Fuse’s configuration options. Version 2.1 builds upon the already incredibly flexible Fuse environment by adding the API engine and new options for the Fuse dashboard,” said Acumen’s CEO, Dr. Dan Patterson.
The Fuse API engine is a flexible means of extracting the results from a Fuse analysis and pushing converting them directly into custom reports and external applications. All of the standard Fuse analyses (schedule analysis, logic analysis and forensic analysis) can be remotely driven through the API and pushed into custom reports and reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, published to the web or Microsoft Sharepoint, or even pushed into external applications. In short, the Fuse API provides the user the flexibility of extending the standard analytics and reporting capabilities built into Fuse to satisfy specific custom needs.
Further expanding Fuse’s customization options, Version 2.1 offers new dashboard layouts and options. With this update comes the ability to add any Fuse analysis data, such as schedule analysis, to the dashboard to be viewed as either a table or graph. Additionally, the Fuse user can copy and paste the dashboard to the clipboard for use in reporting.
Finally, Acumen’s unique method of assessing project performance, Baseline Compliance Analysis, can now be run on any project schedule through the Baseline Compliance metric library. This group of metrics not only looks at performance characteristics such as the number of activities started or finished in a period, but then uses this information to provide a true understanding of project performance.
Fuse integrates directly with Oracle Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Oracle Primavera Risk Analysis, Deltek Open Plan , Asta Power project, and Excel. Acumen is offering a free trial of Version 2.1 through their website, http://www.projectacumen.com.
