“Diaries of an Urban Panther shows promise of being the next powerhouse series that readers will devour with avid devotion.” — Long and Short Reviews 5 Star review

When the Avon editors came across Amanda Arista’s manuscript for DIARIES OF AN URBAN PANTHER, they were so impressed with it they decided it would be the perfect fit for the first Avon Impulse full-length e-original. This fresh take on urban fantasy/romance has humor, sex, action, and above all, characters you want to spend time with.

The following snippet from DIARIES OF AN URBAN PANTHER shows the tongue-in-cheek, B-movie type humor that defines this new paranormal novel:

"Violet Jordan Rule #1 of being a superhero: No tights.

Dear Diary,
By now you know I’m hardly a normal girl. Last night I woke up naked in an alley after fighting off some werewolves. All in a day’s work, I guess. I thought I was dealing pretty well with the whole werepanther thing: the training, the apocalyptic prophecies. And the hot guy following me around, protecting me at every turn, is definitely a bonus. I’m even starting to become accustomed to the bloodshed and the violence-and that’s what scares me. What will tomorrow bring…"

About the Book:
Violet Jordan thought her mother’s fairy tales were just a way to get Violet to sleep, not to prepare her for the apocalyptic prophesy she is the key to preventing. When she becomes a midnight snack for werepanther Spencer Haverty, his infectious bite invokes the first element of her destiny and creates a loose end in his family’s unraveling hold on the Dallas Pride.

Rejecting the helping hand of Chaz Garrett, a Guardian sent to watch over her, Violet flees to her reclusive writer existence, living vicariously through the dramas of her best friend, Jessa Feychild, an undercover fairy princess secretly running from her own responsibilities. When Violet’s budding instincts allow her to save a boy from being flattened by a car, she realizes this new gig may come with perks: a slimmer figure, the intimate attention of Chaz, and insights into her own past and future embedded in her mother’s stories.

When Spencer snatches Jessa from under Violet’s Chaz-distracted nose, she uses her new confidence and slinky new curves to infiltrate Spencer’s scheme to resurrect a demon using Jessa’s fairy blood. As push comes to claws, Violet unleashes a fatal strike against the man threatening her new family, her new home, and her new boyfriend. But in doing so, she sets herself up to be the next leader of the Dallas Pride and jumpstarts the next battle for control over the city.

About the Author:
Amanda was born in Illinois, raised in Corpus Christi, lives in Dallas but her heart lies in London. Good thing she loves to travel. The summer of second grade, she read every book in the young adult section of the library, so she started making up her own stories and hasn’t stopped. She has a husband who fights crime, one dog who thinks he’s a real boy, and another who might be a fruit bat in disguise. When not writing, Amanda often dreams of co-opening an evil bakery and sell despicable desserts. She spends her weekends writing at coffee shops, practicing for the day that caffeine intake becomes an Olympic sport, and plotting character demises with fellow writers Wolvarez, Killer Cupcake and Keith (names have been changed to protect the not-so-innocent).
