Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial and A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson will host Poker Run Saturday, July 9th, 2011.

On Saturday, July 9th, the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial and A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson Shop at NorthStar will hold the 5th Annual Poker Run and Rally, benefiting the state-recognized memorial to all Ohio service members killed in the War on Terror.

"This is our largest annual fundraiser, and we are thankful to once again have the fantastic support of A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson," said OFHM President Neal Kruse. "With more than 220 marble markers already placed, and sadly, more than 30 in the process of being placed, it is more important than ever that the Memorial raise the funds necessary to maintain this important tribute."

The Memorial, ( was established in 2005 by veterans, Gold Star families, and patriotic citizens. It was made possible by a grant of land from the Village of Sunbury. The site is made up of marble markers (predominantly crosses, and one Star of David) bearing the names of each Ohio service member killed in the War on Terror since 9/11. The Memorial also features a chapel, a courtyard of honor bearing military flags and sculptures, and bricks bearing the names of Ohio veterans. The Memorial Committee is a non-profit organization that maintains the site, promotes awareness of Ohio's fallen service members, and holds an annual remembrance event (the Saturday nearest 9/11) honoring Gold Star families statewide.

The Poker Run begins as a motorcycle event, with registration from 8am to 11am at A.D. Farrow Co. Shop at NorthStar. Bikers from around the state will leave en masse at 11am to visit sites throughout central Ohio. After the ride, motorcycles will be lined up to participate in a convoy with Emergency and Military vehicles leading the way past the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial and returning to A.D. Farrow Co. at 4pm for the after-party. The after-party will begin at 2pm and will include performances by Erica Blinn, Kickin' Dixie, and the AC/DC Cover Band Big Gun. There will also be a Beer Garden, some great food vendors and a great military presence. Prize money is guaranteed for the top four best poker hands: 1st: $1,000.00 2nd: $600.00 3rd: $300.00 4th: $100.00. The after party is a great event, and open to the public.

"A.D. Farrow Co. believes that the mission of the Ohio Fallen Heroes Memorial is very important, and we are proud to be a part of this crucial fundraiser," said Bob Althoff, Dealer Principal of A.D. Farrow Co. Harley-Davidson "Gold Star families in Ohio have given so much for our freedom, and by donating all proceeds from this event to the Memorial, this is a way for us to give back."
