Paramount Manufacturing Group today announced the launch of its new cardigan label “Celsa Couture”. The newly launched apparel line has had immense success in South and Central America and will be commercially available in North America in the coming months.
This line of high quality formal apparel is both stylish and socially responsible. “Celsa Couture was created to serve a dual purpose for consumers by producing garments that are both fashionable and environmentally friendly”, says Paramount CEO Mr. Rishi Uttam.
The label is named after Nonia Celsa the famous fashion conscious wife of a Roman Emperor. Mr. Uttam continues by saying “we made a conscious decision to use organic and recycled materials in all of our products and have utilized some of the best yarn and fabrics suppliers.” An added benefit of using quality synthetic fibers is that the fabrics are machine washable and require little or no ironing.
Celsa Couture is one of the fastest growing fashion lines in South America partly because the garments are made from formaldehyde-free fabrics. Formaldehyde is generally known to cause allergic reactions and dermatitis and was recently described by the US National Toxicology Program as “known to be a human carcinogen.”
Mr. Uttam says “Formaldehyde is a toxic gas and long term exposure can cause serious health problems. However, it is still used in over 90% of all our clothing. Recent discoveries and education campaigns by the US government regarding the negative impacts of formaldehyde have caused shifts in the industry. Particularly, parents of new-borns, are becoming more aware of what they expose their children to. But the truth is, we should all be concerned.”
Celsa Couture produces trendy garments for women, focusing on its signature item, The Cardigan. Celsa sets itself apart by challenging the status quo and offering sizes right up to 5XL.
CEO Mr. Uttam says “The beauty of our cardigan is its versatility. It can be dressed down or up. It can be worn in a professional environment giving it a chic edge. Our aim is to take classic shapes and transform them into something savvy that can be worn in multiple ways to create different looks.”
Paramount is currently in discussions with leading retailers and various boutique importers and aims to expand to North America by mid-2012.
