Idea Couture and the Aviva Community Fund win a 2011 Halo Award, one of cause marketing's most notable honors, in the category of Best Digital Marketing campaign.

An annual $1 million online competition and co-creation platform, the Aviva Community Fund fuels and supports the best ideas that lead and support positive community change. The open source idea platform empowers local individuals and groups nationwide to propose real social change within their own communities and has awarded $1.5M to community projects across Canada.

Designed and powered by Idea Couture, the Aviva campaign breaks new ground in both cause and digital marketing for its innovative use of brand marketing to drive social change and grow customer engagement. The crowd-sourcing platform meaningfully connects Aviva to consumers at both a local and national level and actively builds and defines Aviva’s community focused brand.

According to Cheesan Chew, VP of Digital Innovation at Idea Couture, "The Aviva concept is one of the best representations of Idea Couture's philosophy: driving change through social innovation. The concept aligns the brand, values and broad range of communities through online social networks and real-world touchpoints to promote change within those same communities." Idea Couture is a strategic innovation and multi-disciplinary design firm with offices in Toronto, San Francisco, and Shanghai.

September 2011 will mark the start of the ACF's third year. In addition to the 2011 Halo Award (Silver), the Aviva Community Fund has won recent Canadian Marketing Association Awards for Best Financial-Digital (Gold) and Financial-Media services (Bronze).
