Aviva launches new e-cheer application

Following the success of its Healthy Cheer brand campaign, Aviva UK Health today announces the launch of a new application that enables people to send their friends a virtual cheer to encourage and congratulate healthy efforts.

Accessed via the Aviva UK Facebook site (http://www.facebook.com/avivauk) the application has been designed to encourage thousands of people across the UK to recognise and reward their friends for taking steps to improve their health – however big or small.

Individuals simply complete a few details on the Facebook app and add their own message. A personalised ‘e-cheer’ video is then sent their friends by email. To encourage other people to engage with the app, the individual can choose to share their video and the application link across a range of social media.

Adam Beckett, director of sales and marketing, Aviva UK Health says:

“At Aviva UK Health we understand the importance of leading a healthy lifestyle but recognise that sometimes it can be hard to keep our motivation up. Healthy Cheer let us connect with people on a personal level to celebrate their efforts and encourage them to keep going. Our new Healthy e-cheer’ takes this one step further. We’re encouraging the UK population to engage with each other to celebrate friends’ efforts to look after their health and wellbeing. Often, a few words of encouragement are all it takes to help people reach their goals.”

The ‘Healthy e-cheer’ follows the successful launch of Aviva’s Healthy Cheer social media brand campaign in May. Healthy Cheer gave people the opportunity to recognise and celebrate their friends’ health-related achievements.

With a strong digital and social media component the Healthy Cheer campaign encouraged people across the UK to nominate their friends to receive a personalised message of encouragement from a team of Aviva cheerleaders.

The first ‘Healthy Cheers’ took place in June. Videos of the events can be viewed on YouTube and the Aviva UK Facebook site (http://www.facebook.com/avivauk)
(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u_XSn1fqi-g). Further videos will be added to the site over the next month.

To date, over 1680 people have ‘liked’ the campaign on Facebook and total post views exceeded 75,000 within the first month.

Aviva UK Health worked with integrated agency Teamspirit to create the campaign.
