Just 2 years ago, Chris Bauer and Oliran Johnson launched FocusEGD, an environmental graphic design firm specializing in signage design, wayfinding and branding; now, with demand for their services skyrocketing in multiple markets including healthcare and sports, FocusEGD is outpacing its own growth expectations – beginning with a new 2,700 square foot studio space.
2 high-profile projects have contributed greatly to FocusEGD’s momentum; the company is serving as environmental graphic design and donor recognition consultant for the New Parkland Hospital, a 2.5 million square foot replacement hospital that is currently the largest healthcare construction project in the United States. FocusEGD also provided their wayfinding expertise and proficiency integrating brands into the recently completed Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, a $100 million, 11,000-seat stadium built as a multi-use facility for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies in conjunction with the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community.
“The values that have driven our growth are better reflected in our new, open-plan workspace,” said FocusEGD principal Oliran Johnson. “Our integrated project management and deep analysis-driven approach relies on an atmosphere of collaboration and an interdisciplinary culture; our team is so diverse and experienced, sharing knowledge is a keystone of our success and our expansion has only further enabled us to enrich FocusEGD.”
A HUB/WBE-certified business, FocusEGD will also be expanding their workforce; managing principal Chris Bauer said now is an exciting time for FocusEGD’s range of services. “Research continues to demonstrate the importance of environmental graphic design and wayfinding in shaping the consumer experience. The connection between effective design and improved financial performance is well-known and as such businesses, venues and organizations are reaching out to us to better understand our approach and how FocusEGD can contribute to profit-centered strategies. Growth will continue to be on the horizon for FocusEGD and we look forward to working with new clients as well as bringing new professionals into our creative culture.”
