Also featured this year is a special session presented by the College of American Pathology discussing the role of the pathologist in our changing healthcare delivery model.

Sessions will also be devoted to Sunquest’s new Outreach Advantage solution, which offers specimen monitoring, connectivity, mobile solutions, reporting, and customer relations management (CRM) tools help laboratories compete more effectively for the lab test volume in their communities.

The Executive Workshop, new in 2011, is focused on leveraging the laboratory service line to accelerate efforts for successful meaningful use demonstration. Discussions will center on how the laboratory should be helping to decrease the cost of care delivered today, and support the organization’s effort to manage the care of populations of patients under an ACO delivery model.

Gayle Harrell, Chair of the Health and Human Service Access Subcommittee, will be on hand to discuss the current state of meaningful use demonstration, and offer a preview of what to expect in Stages 2 and 3.
