Dr. John Williams, President of Federal Reserve Bank San Francisco Joins Advisory Board of California Council on Economic Education

Dr. Williams brings nearly 15 years of economics education and experience to the CCEE Advisory Board, including serving as senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisors.

The California Council on Economic Education (CCEE; http://www.ccee.org), a leading economic and financial literacy education organization in California announced today that Dr. John Williams, President of the Federal Reserve Bank San Francisco has joined its Advisory Board.

William Coffin, Chairman of the CCEE said, “We are honored to have Dr. Williams join our Advisory Board, providing valuable insight and counsel directed toward supporting our mission of advancing economic and financial literacy to the K–12 teachers and students of California.”

Dr. Williams was appointed President of the Federal Reserve Bank in March 2011. He began his career as an economist in 1994 when he joined the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System following the completion of his Ph.D. in Economics at Stanford University. He became senior economist at the Board in 1998 and served on loan from 1999 to 2000 as senior economist at the White House Council of Economic Advisors (https://www.ccee.org/about-ccee/board-members/).
