Draker Labs, a provider of high performance turnkey monitoring systems for large commercial and utility-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, announces several additions to its management team, including Scott Sullivan who recently joined the company as VP of Sales. Sullivan, who has an extensive career in the solar industry, was most recently Director of Major Accounts at Satcon, a global manufacturer of power conversion solutions for utility-scale renewable energy projects. Sullivan will lead the company’s sales efforts into the rapidly growing commercial and utility-scale PV markets.
Sullivan joins other recent additions to Draker’s management team, including Mark Sherman as VP of Marketing, Gail Chagnon as Director of Finance, Jefferson Goethals as Director of Product Development, and Dominic Nicholas as Director of Software Engineering. Sherman, who has an extensive career in high tech marketing, was formerly Director of Marketing at Visio Corporation, now part of Microsoft. Gagnon joins Draker from Seventh Generation, where she served as Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. Goethals was formerly Executive Vice President at SolarWave Energy, a solar monitoring provider for residential PV and thermal systems. Nicholas served as Principal Engineer at StubHub, now part of eBay, and consulted for Alteris Renewables, a leading installer of renewable energy systems.
The company also announced that Draker Founder and CTO AJ Rossman recently left the company. Rossman, who remains a Draker shareholder, plans to complete work on his doctoral degree while continuing to innovate in renewable energy-related technologies.
Commenting on the recent changes, Draker CEO Charles ‘Chach’ Curtis said, “We are very excited to add such high caliber talent to Draker’s management team. With these latest additions and the recent round of equity financing we just closed, I am very confident that we will be able to sustain the 300% year-over-year growth we experienced in 2010 and during the first half of this year.” Curtis continued, “Scott brings a wealth of successful sales and business development experience to the organization. His knowledge of the utility market will be invaluable as we continue to add more and more utility projects, like the 18MW system we’re currently commissioning. Mark, who has led marketing at a number of rapidly growing high tech firms, brings valuable skills that will help us strengthen our brand and market leadership. In the short time she’s been with us, Gail’s knowledge of financial systems has had an immediate and positive impact on our ability to plan and manage our financial resources, and Dom and Jefferson each bring critical business and technical skills that will help us maintain our competitive advantage and drive innovation.”
Regarding the departure of AJ Rossman, Curtis added, “We are indebted to AJ for his pioneering vision and commitment to technical excellence and wish him the best success in his future academic and business pursuits.”
