Townsend Security, a leading provider of encryption and encryption key management technologies announces it has obtained Silver Certified Partner status in the Microsoft Partner Program with a competency in Business Intelligence and will be attending Microsoft’s Worldwide Partner Conference in Los Angeles, CA July 10-14. The company is actively seeking current Microsoft Partners with similar competencies, focused on SQL Server and security, who need to help their customers secure sensitive data and meet the evolving encryption and encryption key regulatory requirements within PCI-DSS, HIPAA/HITECH, FFIEC and other state privacy standards.

In August, Townsend Security will be releasing a new hardware security module (HSM) for cryptographic key management with SQL Server 2008. The HSM focuses on security, simplicity, speed, and affordability for Microsoft’s mid-market SQL Server 2008 customers. These customers have voiced a need for a compliance solution that integrates seamlessly into their IT environments and is both cost-efficient and scalable. The hardware security module occupies an important place in the ecosystem of key management HSMs, and will help Microsoft SQL Server and SharePoint mid-market customers experience the benefits of the Microsoft platform.

“We are focused on fostering strong partner relationships within the Microsoft network and our Silver Certified Partner status gives us a competitive advantage in the channel as we launch our new hardware security module (HSM), Alliance Key Manager for SQL Server,” says Patrick Townsend, Founder & CTO. “When Microsoft selected us to help create a path to secure the SQL Server for their mid-market customers we knew we needed to become a certified partner and attend their Worldwide Partner Conference. When we attend the conference next week we are looking forward to meeting with other Certified Partners who are focused on security and the SQL Server to discuss a mutually beneficial opportunity.”

Townsend’s encryption key management solution is a proven and tested technology that is already in use by more than 1,000 customers worldwide. Customers and partners use the encryption key management technology to protect data in business applications, data warehouses, Business Intelligence applications, and on backup media. The HSM is offered in several models that scale in price and capability according to customers needs and budgets.

The company is currently scheduling meetings with Microsoft Business Partners who are interested in building a new revenue stream within this emerging market.
