Heirloom Computing (http://www.heirloomcomputing.com), a silicon valley cloud start-up providing a unique Enterprise Legacy ‘Platform as a Service’ (PaaS) solution known as “Elpaas”, today announced the appointment of industry recognized and published thought-leader, Mark Haynie, as its new Chief Technology Officer (CTO). As CTO, Haynie will be responsible for developing and executing Heirloom’s technical strategy.

Haynie brings more than 30 years of building software products for the enterprise. He was most recently with Micro Focus, where he was the CTO of Application Modernization & Cloud. Prior to that, Haynie spent 15 years with Amdahl, leading the design of database and transaction engines.

”In today’s market there is a tremendous amount of activity from companies providing application development and deployment frameworks, but none of these are addressing the need to enable existing applications to participate in the cloud” says Heirloom’s President and CEO, Gary Crook. “Mark’s record of industry leadership coupled with an impressive track-record of success make him the ideal executive to lead our technical strategy in delivering our Legacy PaaS solution to the market.”

”Heirloom Computing, as a first-mover, is positioned perfectly to enter the Legacy PaaS marketplace. Delivering a proven solution that addresses the needs of virtually every enterprise organization looking to migrate and deploy their applications onto public and private computing clouds,” said Mark Haynie.

Heirloom partner, Tiburon Technologies also commented on the appointment. “We have a tremendous amount of respect for Mark as a cloud computing thought-leader and an IT strategist. We are looking forward to working with Mark and the entire Heirloom team as we bring the benefits of cloud computing to Tiburon clients throughout North America,” said Martin Tarr, CEO of Tiburon.

Charlie Bunce, Senior Vice President of Information Analysis Inc, another Heirloom partner, said, “We have worked with Mark over the years and benefited from his technical expertise on a number of modernization engagements in the Federal sector. We are excited to see that Mark is now with Heirloom. It reinforces our decision to partner with Heirloom to extend our offerings in the emerging cloud computing space.”
