Rockville, MD (PRWEB) July 11, 2011
Designed for all professionals responsible for coordinating care across the continuum, Dorland Health’s 3rd Care Coordination Summit will deliver the insights, trends and analysis from industry thought leaders surrounding the most challenging trends in healthcare that speak to the need for more united care across the continuum, and require frontline practitioners to adapt to new roles, collaborations and initiatives.
This all-day Summit will address the wide-range of opportunities that are possible in the changing healthcare landscape, most notably to improve healthcare quality and reduce costs. The day’s discussions will be punctuated by two prominent figures who will keynote the event-- Carolyn Clancy, MD, Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), opens the Summit with key insights on the delivery of healthcare today, including how to improve care coordination through the factors of implementation, dissemination and patient engagement. The second keynote speaker, Chad Boult MD, Senior Advisor, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation shares the groundbreaking work taking place throughout the U.S that’s leading the movement toward high-quality care at reduced costs. The CMS Innovation Center is at the forefront of change, providing an opportunity for members of the care coordination to submit projects and to build upon successes of others to deliver better care to consumers at a reduced cost.
Additional sessions deliver powerful insight into the impact of the future of nursing on the care coordination workforce, innovative efforts to reduce healthcare disparities, opportunities for entrepreneurs in a rapidly changing healthcare system, strategies to reduce avoidable readmissions, fresh approaches for patient engagement and new views on end-of-life care.
The Dorland Health Care Coordination Summit will delve into topics necessary for those who work in managed care, acute care, the military, long-term care behavioral health, rehabilitation, home care, or another setting through which consumers access healthcare. The only event designed for all members of the care coordination team, the Care Coordination Summit provides participants with the insight, the strategies and the tactics to improve the performance of their organization so as to improve the quality of care while reducing costs.
The Dorland Health Care Coordination Summit will be held Friday, October 21st, from 8:00 a.m.-5:15 p.m. at the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
