I know that we will deliver the best possible analysis, training, and performance support solutions to our federal, military and commercial customers.

Kevin Harkins, Ph.D., CEO and President of Harkcon, Inc. welcomed Richard L. Arnold to the Harkcon team on Friday, July 1, 2011. Arnold was most recently employed by Lockheed Martin in Centreville, Virginia as a Director and Program Manager. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Vice President and Chief Learning Officer at Universal Systems & Technology Inc. (UNITECH) until it was purchased by Lockheed Martin in 2009. His work history contains success after success and is highlighted by a variety of projects including Program Manager and Lead Executive for Capture and Operations for the U.S. Coast Guard Training and Technical Support Services contract; Lead Executive for Capture and Initial Operations for the U.S. Army Distributed Learning, Education and Training Products (DLETP) contract as well as the Lead Executive and Analyst Trainer for multiple Defense Threat Reduction Agency and Department of State international analysis and training efforts. Prior to his above accomplishments, Arnold retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2002 after an exemplary 24 year career.

"Anyone who knows and has watched Rich Arnold over the past several years knows that Harkcon is gaining a professional who clearly stands out among his peers,” said Harkins. “We are honored to have him as part of our team."

Keith Curran, COO at Harkcon, has known Rich for decades and worked with him over the past 10 years. “We're excited to have Rich onboard - he brings a unique blend of business development and operational support and experience that will help Harkcon move to the next level,” said Curran. “Rich will initially focus on business development efforts, particularly efforts across Department of Defense and international work, but will be involved in operational efforts as well, including our support of the Coast Guard's Training and Technical Support Services contract.”

When asked how he feels about his transition to Harkcon, Arnold was quick to say, “I'm excited to work in a growing company that has a common vision, shared values, and a strong commitment to helping our customers meet their goals. I'm looking forward to working with many of the folks I've had the honor and privilege to work with during my Coast Guard and commercial careers.” He went on to say, “A company is only as good as its people, and Harkcon has a great staff. I’m excited to work with them as we shape the company's growth and development.”

With experience in a variety of companies, Arnold has realistic views of his future at Harkcon. He commented, “Having worked for both large and small companies I truly enjoy the flexibility, responsiveness and creativity that I expect to find by working closely with a collaborative and energetic team. I know that we will deliver the best possible analysis, training, and performance support solutions to our federal, military and commercial customers. I feel that this move is the culmination of 25+ years of preparation. I look forward to leveraging that experience with the superb skills and experience of my fellow Harkcon colleagues.”
