Lake Geneva, WI (PRWEB) July 11, 2011
HSA Clearing Corp, a nationwide leader in the Consumer-Directed Health Care market and health savings account (HSA) programs, will be presenting a webinar entitled “Taking HSAs to the Next Level” on July 14th at 4:40 pm ET (3:40 pm CT, 1:40 pm PT).
Congressman Erik Paulsen (R-MN) has introduced the Family and Retirement Health Investment Act of 2011 (H.R.2010) which expands and clarifies how HSAs work. Paulsen serves on the powerful House Ways & Means Committee which has jurisdiction over tax matters, including HSAs.
Joining Rep. Paulsen will be Roy Ramthun (“Mr. HSA”) who led the U.S. Treasury Department’s implementation of the HSA program after its creation in 2003 before becoming the senior health policy advisor to President George W. Bush. Mr. Ramthun now has his own consulting practice focused on promoting HSAs and consumer-driven health care.
Paulsen and Ramthun will discuss the provisions of H.R.2010 as well as the future of HSAs under the health reform law, including how the law might be changed. For example, legislation is pending that would address the minimum medical loss ratio (MLR) requirements, which have caused many Insurance agents and brokers’ commissions from health insurers to drop by as much as 50% since the implementation of the standards.
Already many bankers, health insurance agents, employee benefit advisors, attorneys and others in the health care field have signed up for this event. If you are in the HSA/CDHP business, this is one webinar you will not want to miss. Sign-Up Now.
