As a chiropractor in San Francisco, it is my responsibility to educate my community on the damaging effects of poor posture. That’s why we are here Says, Dr. Davis.

San Francisco Chiropractor, Dr. Eben Davis and his team of posture experts will be donating their time and offering free services to educate Embarcadero Center tenants and Financial District office workers on the relationship between good posture and good health.
Says Dr. Davis, “Most people are not aware of the damaging effects of poor posture on their long term health, or how to maintain healthy posture habits. Or, if they even have poor posture. Everything from the mattress and pillow we use to sleep, our car seats, and the chairs we sit in every day at work, all play a role in our posture”.
Chiropractors consider posture the “window to the spine”. By looking at posture from the outside, an experienced chiropractor can determine with fairly good accuracy the position of the spine on the inside.
For instance, a chiropractor will check to make sure your ears, shoulders, and hips are level. If they are not, typically, a spinal misalignment exists. Forward Head Posture (FHP) is a very common condition that affects millions of people who spend the majority of their day in front of a computer. Checking for FHP is part of a comprehensive posture exam.
Your feet are the foundation of the body. A chiropractor experienced in posture correction will often perform an electronic foot scan to determine if there are problems with the foundation such as pronation of the foot or flat feet. Chiropractors also check for a short leg which can lead to poor posture and spinal misalignment's. Problems in the feet and a short leg can be corrected with custom orthotics.
Poor posture over an extended period of time can lead to spinal degeneration, bulging and herniated discs, sleeping disorders, headaches, breathing problems, digestive problems, and the dreaded hunch back that is commonly seen in elderly people. Compression fractures can also result from a lifetime of poor posture.
“As a chiropractor in San Francisco, it is my responsibility to educate my community on the damaging effects of poor posture. That’s why we are here” Says, Dr. Davis.
