In Friends of the Enchanted Forest: How they Save Christmas (published by AuthorHouse), a new children’s book by Glenda Crenshaw, she and illustrator Dan Cooper have crafted a compelling story that offers children an engaging example of the power of courage and friendship. When Christmas is threatened, a group of animal friends must bind together to save it.
Once upon a time, in a beautiful place called the Enchanted Forest, there were five friends: a skunk named Sweetie, a fox named Jumper, a raccoon named Sticky, a porcupine named Billy, and a monkey named Charlie. They were very happy playing together. After chores, they would take off and play hide-and-seek, but would always be home by dark. They couldn’t wait until Christmas.
Acting on the guidance of a wise old owl, the five friends depart on a magical quest that tests each of them, and the special powers they possess. During each chapter of the quest, the animals are tested by traveling through five caves; they must work together to overcome their fears and proceed on their path. Young readers will enjoy the adventure even as they learn about the power of teamwork, reading along with the animal friends on their way to the witch’s castle.
Jackson’s beautifully-illustrated, full-color children’s book is perfect for children ages 4-9. Friends of the Enchanted Forest was written after the author was forced to give up singing, and inspired by her grandchildren.
