Samsung is now offering its Android smartphone customers an exclusive version of TekTrak’s app.

As smartphone technology continues to evolve and more and more people use their phones to store personal information, such as banking and emails, this is a vital app to have if you happen to lose or misplace your phone.

TekTrak (http://www.tektrak.com), a comprehensive mobile tracking and security app, is now available on Samsung Apps.

Samsung is offering its Android smartphone customers an exclusive version of TekTrak’s app. This app performs two crucial tasks: (1) a smartphone user can locate where their phone is when they can’t find it, and (2) they can protect the information stored on the phone from falling into the wrong hands.

Here’s how it works. The users download the app and register their phone. Users then get unlimited usage of three useful features for free, including:

  •     Location tracking, displays the location of the user’s phone on a map in real-time;
  •     Location history, allows users to see the previous locations of the phone over time; and
  •     Remote ring, lets users set off the ringer, even if the phone is on silent.

For a yearly fee of $4.99, users can get unlimited use of additional features, such as: remote locking and unlocking of the phone, remote text messaging, remote Wi-Fi enabling, MultiLock and remote data wipe (either partial wipe, or perform a full factory restore). These added features help ensure any private or sensitive information stored on a smartphone does not fall into the hands of strangers in the event a phone is lost.

Even if a phone’s battery dies, users will still be able to see its last known location. Users can access any of the free or paid features from any web browser through TekTrak’s website. Both the free and the premium features of TekTrak are exclusively available in Samsung Apps, http://www.SamsungApps.com. Samsung Apps is currently available on all Samsung devices worldwide. Samsung Apps will be available in the U.S. later this year.

“We’re excited to have Samsung Apps offer our app to its large base of global customers,” said Arik Waldman, CEO of TekTrak. “As smartphone technology continues to evolve and more and more people use their phones to store personal information, such as banking and emails, this is a vital app to have if you happen to lose or misplace your phone. Our Android application offers a top-notch user experience.”
