Michael Gibson, President of Operation Lookout, co-founded the organization over 25 years ago to help raise awareness about missing and exploited children. Gibson says, “Finding funding for these vital programs has become increasingly difficult. To help us meet our fundraising goals, we recently partnered with Kars-R-Us, a Professional Fundraiser that specializes in car donation programs. In just the first few months we’ve received checks for over $5000! We’d like to send out a special “Thanks” to all those that donated a car in 2011 to help support our programs.”
Operation Lookout is active in educating parents and children about the dangers of pedophiles, sexual predators, molesters and abductors that are looking to connect with children personally and online. “Not With MY Child! You Don’t!” is an anti-predator call to action sponsored by the organization. Operation Lookout is also active in helping search for and locate missing children, and maintains an online directory of missing children on their website at http://www.operationlookout.org.
Operation Lookout makes The Lookout Magazine available online, with information about The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, the National Sex Offender Registry Act, and articles of interest to parents, researchers, and anyone concerned about the protection of children.
Gibson says, “Operation Lookout depends on the financial support of the communities we serve. In today’s economic environment, donating an unused or unwanted car is an easy way for the public to help us continue to provide these vital services.”
Michael Irwin, President of Kars-R-Us, says, “Donating a car is an easy way to support Operation Lookout. We’re here to make the donation experience as easy as possible, while insuring Operation Lookout gets the highest possible return from each donation.”
Lisa Frank, Vice President of Kars-R-Us and Operations Manager, says: “Using a network of local transport companies, we’re able to pick up cars just about anywhere in the country! Part of my job is to insure that every donor gets a response within 24 business hours. If the donor needs to have the car moved right away, sometimes we can pick up their donated vehicle within a few hours.”
According to Gibson: “We’re very happy with the results we’ve seen so far, and look forward to sending out many more “Thanks!” in the future!”
