Intellego Aids Investigations by Combining Visual Reconstruction and Advanced Analysis Features for Internet Communications

Our new Intellego Communication Monitoring and Analysis application will help law enforcement analyze patterns and quickly connect the dots to identify sources of threats and stop them.

SS8, the leading US-based provider of lawful interception and communications analysis solutions, today announced the release of its Intellego™ Monitoring Center application. Intellego is the industry’s first monitoring center application to integrate visual reconstruction of Internet communications and advanced analytics features from a single screen, greatly speeding up the process of identifying suspects and seeing their communications. Comprehensive communications analysis features help law enforcement better understand suspects’ communication patterns and behaviors. Intellego provides vital assistance to law enforcement agencies in identifying and apprehending targets involved in criminal activities, including: Child pornography, kidnapping, drug trafficking, acts of terrorism, fraud, and other threats to personal safety and national security.

Because Intellego accurately reproduces lawfully intercepted digital content, analysts can see a target’s communications exactly as they were created or viewed during a web session. These capabilities significantly accelerate the investigation process compared to previous Internet communication analysis tools that required specialized IT expertise to dissect IP packet captures and other files.

Another key advantage of Intellego is the ability to monitor digital communications in real time — either from an office, or from a laptop in the field — over a secure, encrypted connection. This real-time ability gives law enforcement the option to react immediately. “Internet communication applications are very complex and really complicate warrant-based monitoring efforts,” said deputy sheriff, Paul Potter, technical support manager for the San Bernardino County inland regional narcotics enforcement team. “Intellego’s monitoring features greatly enhance our ability to more quickly understand what and with whom a target is communicating.”

Other Intellego analysis features include both a powerful query engine and social network analysis (SNA) to reveal communication relationships. SS8’s proprietary forensic algorithms assist users in identifying criminal organizations, leaders, communication gatekeepers, accomplices and other potential targets.

Built around a robust case management framework, Intellego allows users to prepare professional reports, charts, graphs and documents for prosecutors and ultimately for presentation in a court of law. Intellego complies with all relevant CALEA and ETSI lawful interception standards, and Intellego’s flexible architecture may be adapted easily to integrate with other law enforcement analytical applications.

“Our new Intellego Communication Monitoring and Analysis application will help law enforcement analyze patterns and quickly connect the dots to identify sources of threats and stop them.” said Cemal Dikmen, SS8 Chief Technology Officer. “By working closely with our law enforcement partners around the world, SS8 will continue to expand the monitoring and analytical capabilities of Intellego, providing higher levels of communications intelligence to assist efforts to protect personal safety and national security.”
