The trend away from print publishing is creating enormous pressure for the development of mobile content. The rapid adoption of digital tablets and smart phones by consumers makes the need for mobile publishing solotions critical for successful marketing programs.

Regulus Communications, Inc. announced today the release of its cloud publishers for mobile devices as part of a core expansion of its YAMweb® family of mobile media.

The cloud publishers were developed for classroom education, health information technology and mobile marketing clients to meet the growing demand for mobile content. The cloud is a group of server-based applications and data services for publishers to send content to a PC, digital pad, or mobile phone simultaneously. Clients do not need a separate domain address or web site account.

“Mobile cloud publishing is expected to be the next major growth industry across the Internet, especially in education and health information technology,” says Richard L. Austin, the project director. “Every retail business, classroom, medical service provider, and government information agency will need to have a mobile publishing capability to meet the information demands of their mobile students, customers, and clients”, he added.

The first two publishers in the cloud are the Universal padPublisher serving classroom education, digital publishing and health information technology, and the Universal couponPublisher serving retail marketing, coupon publishers and affinity networks. Following closely behind the release of the publishers is the Mobile Content Store to provide cloud users with “plug and publish” content for their mobile projects.

No special apps are required to author or publish the content and no special apps are required to access the content from a browser-enabled mobile device. Users can publish to a PC, digital pad, netbook, notebook, or mobile phone without requiring different applications for each device. The cloud framework is built around Word allowing users to create with only the skill needed to author a simple word document.

The cloud can be accessed from any browser-enabled PC or digital pad with an Internet connection. Content can include basic text copied and pasted directly from Word or Notepad; videos embeded from YouTUBE®; geo-tagged images or pictures from Google® Picasa; and, fill-out forms for customer surveys and market research with results sent to an e-mail address. Cloud publisher benefits include:

Easy to learn and use:
No technical skills are required and users do not need to know HTML or PHP.

Social network interactions:
The cloud is designed to work with social networks to optimize opt-in content publishing.

All functional software is provided and managed in the cloud.
User content is maintained off-site to help prevent it from misuse by other publishers.

Cross-platform access:
Content can be published from any standard web browser including IE, Firefox, Netscape, Mozilla, or Safari.

No cloud added advertising:
No pop-up ads, roll-ads, or media links are embedded from the cloud anywhere on published pages.
