Flag Overhead Garage Door Service announces a new affiliation with two major manufacturers of garage doors and parts that will streamline Flag’s supply chain process, save on warehouse costs and provide a wider variety of products to their customers. It’s another step in outsmarting the recession by reducing costs and providing that “extra mile” of service.

“The interesting thing about this economy is that it creates enormous opportunity if a business is willing to go the extra mile for its customers," said Herman Gutierrez, owner of Flag Overhead Garage Door Service.

Herman Gutierrez speaks on his cell phone with one hand and holds a hot dog in the other. Herman is more than willing to share and balance his personal days off with the urgent needs of his customers. This past July 4th Gutierrez spent part of his holiday answering an emergency call from one of his customers. The customers’ car was imprisoned behind a broken garage door. They thought they wouldn’t have access to their car for the long weekend. Not so. Gutierrez, owner of Flag Overhead Garage Door Service answers the phone 24/7. It’s part of his multi-faceted strategy to outsmart the recession and emerge positioned for growth.

This particular customer later gushed about his experience on the popular consumer website, Yelp.com: “Flag Overhad [sic] came to the rescue within 2 hours and charged only $65, while another company I called wanted $265 for coming out after hours.”

“The interesting thing about this economy is that it creates enormous opportunity if a business is willing to go the extra mile for its customers. You’d be amazed at how many service techs don’t call their customer to let them know they’re running late or otherwise delayed. It’s a little thing, but it means a lot to the customer,” said Mr. Gutierrez.

Flag Overhead Garage Door Service provides emergency service, maintenance & repair and also new garage door installation to both residential and commercial customers. Flag Overhead recently announced a new affiliation with two major manufacturers of garage doors and parts that will streamline Flag’s supply chain process, save on overhead costs and provide a wider variety of products to their customers. It’s another way that Flag Overhead Garage Door Service is able to keep pricing reasonable and offer that “extra mile” service.

Northwest Door of Tacoma, WA and LiftMaster of Elmhurst, IL will supply Flag Overhead with garage door products and parts that will expand on Flags current inventory. The additional products will include energy-efficient garage doors and side-mounted motors that free up ceiling space in the garage.

“It’s another way of staying nimble in this economy,” said Gutierrez. He will point out that the biggest benefit of his efforts is customer referrals. Gutierrez believes that his combination of 24/7 service and excellent product, along with some calculated cost cutting, is what has customers spreading the word and coming back again and again— even if it is on July 4th.
