Down to her last two emergency unemployment checks, a homeless Atlanta single mother has founded a job listing site called NewGeorgiaJobs.com.

NewGeorgiaJobs.com allows employers to post job advertisements in several hiring categories for a meager amount compared to other job sites in the state. This was done purposely by Homeless Lisa, in hopes to encourage small to medium sized companies to list their job openings. She hopes to use the site for two purposes: (A) Find herself a job and, (B) to earn money for shelter from job postings to get off of Atlanta's streets.

"I guess you can call it a reverse job hunt", says the woman, who for safety purposes identifies herself only by her first name, Lisa. "I've been searching for a job for over a year and have either received no response, or responses from predators looking to steal my identity."

NewGeorgiaJobs.com allows employers to post job advertisements in several hiring categories for a meager amount compared to other job sites in the state. This was done purposely by "Homeless Lisa", in hopes to encourage small to medium sized companies to list their job openings.

"I worked for a large company that downsized in 2010, so I know what it is like to just be a number”, Homeless Lisa says, "Small businesses in Georgia need an affordable way to list their job openings, and we need jobs. It is a win-win situation."

After over a year of sending hundreds of job applications and resumes, and two weeks on the streets, Homeless Lisa got the idea to start NewGeorgiaJobs.com. She wanted to make it easier for employers to post job listings and for her, and others, to apply for them.

"If you look at some of these major jobs sites, you have to register and upload your resume before you can apply. They also charge the employer $100 to $250 to post a job. It shouldn't cost an employer that much to post a job listing."

NewGeorgiaJobs.com was launched by Homeless Lisa using computers in Fulton and Dekalb public libraries. It is free for use by those seeking employment in the state of Georgia.
