Salute a host of inspirational new looks, as Next’s Autumn-Winter 2011 collections appear in-store and online!

Suddenly, everything is looking different. Not just in terms of the desirable clothes – which represent Next’s reliable take on the shapes, colours and moods of the emerging fashion season. But also in Next’s marvelous homeware collections – perfectly conceived to bring warmth and excitement to any living space this Autumn.

It’s a season of strong themes and fascinating variations. Next’s womenswear revisits the 1960s for cute little coats, short skirts and sleek shifts. And the retro-chic of the 1970s is conjured up in wrap dresses and pretty pussycat-bow blouses teamed with a-line midi-skirts or wide flared jeans.

Thinking of cooler days ahead, there’s an amazing array of tactile knitwear to layer with chinos and faux furs, cosy shearlings or cocoon-like coats. And every look is complemented by fabulous on-trend shoes, bags and accessories.

Next’s latest menswear collection has a heritage feel, evidenced in neo-vintage checked and herringbone tailoring fabrics, chunky-soled brogue shoes, shawl-collared knits, and engaging detailing such as elbow patches.

Men’s jeans, toughened up in heavy drill or industrial-look denim, are worn with outdoorsy layers of chunky knits plus weatherproof jackets. And relaxed loungewear takes inspiration from the preppy off-track sportswear of an Ivy League campus.

Next’s childrenswear picks up this preppy vibe too, especially in the mascot motifs and badge embellishments on boyswear. Boys also have a heritage theme in traditional tweeds and Aran knits – and their own version of the tough, all-weather, all-terrain layered look. Little girls will love the new season’s quirky new take on classic British style, while their older sisters will adore 1930s-inspired dresses and long-line knits in soft shades of blush pink, rust and beige.

For the home, the season’s most exciting new colour palettes range from theatrical pinks and purples (chosen for extravagant florals, feathers and rich velvets) to a cool contemporary combination of white and grey with accents of crystal, capiz-shell, and shimmering silvery metallics. There’s also a distinctive new take on 1950s Scandinavian style in rustic landscape shades of brown, cream, and zingy leaf green.

Be inspired.
