Rockville MD (PRWEB) July 18, 2011
In the hours after President Obama announced that US Navy Seals had killed wanted terrorist Osama Bin Laden, Don L. Rondeau was at the White House serving as a special correspondent for the Homeland Security Television (HSTV) produced show “The Threat Matrix”. Rondeau successfully blended his ability to communicate with his anti-terrorism knowledge and ability to share information. While some networks were still assessing what had occurred and scrambling to find a terrorism expert to interview, Rondeau was capturing the unfiltered perspectives of passersby’s, vacationers and protesters at the White House in Washington, DC. The scene was surreal. It was a seminal moment in the war against terror and, as per usual, Rondeau was in the right place at the right time. There wasn’t any time to prepare a scene. Rondeau maneuvered through the electrified crowds and spoke with whoever was willing without any idea of what opinion they held. Rondeau states, “For years Americans have listened to various experts and reporters, I just wanted to give a voice to the average citizen.” Rondeau continues, “I have always appreciated the correspondents who are well versed on the given subject and have the ability to listen. I am grateful that this approach was recognized with a Telly Award”. With the White House as the back drop, Rondeau tactfully poked, prodded, debated and questioned protesters, housewives and vacationers to include those who were visiting from overseas. He dove in gently but firmly, armed with an expert’s knowledge of terrorism. The production value was fantastic and yet curious, in that less than 24 hours after the assault on Bin Laden’s compound, the Threat Matrix show contained accurate simulations of the compound before most even knew of the exact location. How Rondeau and the Threat Matrix was able to secure these images is further testament to his ability to share critical information. As a result, Don L. Rondeau, TSSI, Inc. and HSTV are Telly Award Bronze Honorees.
