the HillTop Records Online Music Festival offers a global audience and limitless exposure—free of charge.
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2011
HillTop Records has been serving and promoting America’s songwriters since 1993. Now, in addition to offering a full range of recording and promotional services to songwriters around the country, HillTop Records has launched an exciting new venture: the First Annual Online Music Festival for Songwriters.
Functioning as a stage for America’s up-and-coming songwriters, the HillTop Records Online Music Festival offers a global audience and limitless exposure—free of charge. There is no cost to enter to win cash prizes at the HillTop Records Online Music Festival. Songwriters who own the copyright to their original songs (words and music) may upload them on MP3 files directly to the Music Festival’s official website.
Just as easily, festival-goers may browse songs and vote (by clicking “like”) for their favorites online. These votes will be tallied at the end of the Festival—set to coincide with the end of Summer 2011—to determine the winner of The People’s Choice Award, worth $500. Other prizes that songwriters automatically enter to win when they upload their songs are The Best of Genre Award (in the categories of Rock, Pop, Country, Gospel, and Urban/R&B) each worth $250, The Grand Prize Award of $1000, and The HillTop Award, whose winner will receive a professionally produced CD (worth approximately $2,400) arranged and recorded by HillTop Records’ musicians.
To kick off its First Annual Online Music Festival for Songwriters, HillTop Records offered a special award to the most “liked” song in the month of June. The award of $250 went to Joseph A. Data for his song “All the King’s Horses.” The same amount will be given to the most “liked” song in July. The sooner a song is uploaded to the Festival website, the more time it has to accumulate “like” votes.
In addition to the chance to enter to win these cash prizes, the HillTop Records Online Music Festival for Songwriters gives America’s songwriters on the rise the opportunity to be heard on a grander scale. Fans and music industry professionals can browse for new songs by genre, which allows them to discover up-and-coming songwriters. Songwriters are encouraged to advertise their participation by linking their Festival songs to social networking sites.
HillTop Records is constantly on the lookout for new avenues for songwriters. The company maintains a strong online presence via Facebook and Twitter, and HillTop Records songwriters under contract often benefit from having a Unique Songwriter Page that can be used for promotional purposes. HillTop Records songwriter Steve Euto-Mullis called HillTop “the label that records America’s songs and the company that truly is all about the songwriter.”
