The fun doesn’t stop at the city limit, so neither should your guide. In Coconut Grove, Coral Gables and the nearby neighborhoods, there are many great restaurants, cultural events and performances. Now, there's an app designed especially for community residents, students and visitors.

With over 72 million "smart phones" in use in the U.S and the technology of social networking, staying in constant touch with events and activities in real-time is now a reality with "GoGroveGables.”

The new GoGroveGables app comes in two versions; one that works on Apple devices; and one that works on Android devices. The website at features the same information and can be accessed from a smart phone.

"It's a very exciting new way to stay connected with everything that's going on around town," said Eric Salzinger, a company representative. "If you’re living here or visiting, on vacation or business, you can find all of the great restaurants, see the live theater or bands, enjoy Biscayne Bay and stay current with the seasonal festivals and events in this richly diverse community. Call to make reservations with one touch and get step-by-step directions to any event from wherever you are, right to the front door.

The GoGroveGables website and app also highlight local events based on user feedback. “The Company encourages users to let it know the places and events they like the best, so that it can be on the lookout to add those kinds of events to the listings or features,” said Salzinger. In addition, there are interactive photo galleries, streaming videos, integrated Google mapping, real-time weather, and even the ability to share event and restaurant information on Facebook.

The Company has visited local hotels and retail shops to introduce the service. "It’s awesome," said Daniela, a concierge, "my hotel guests love it.” “It's a great way to find out what's going on tonight,” said Carlos, a local salesman. “It literally puts the Grove and Gables scene right at my fingertips," said Jennifer, a college student.

"Recently, surveys have shown that up to 2/3 of mobile users acknowledge the role their smart phones already play when shopping, and over 90% want more shopping options on their handheld devices," said Salzinger. "GoGroveGables was developed to fill that need for dining and entertainment in this local market."

The GoGroveGables app is now available for free download at, as well as worldwide through Apple's App Store, and in the Android Market.
