McMaster University and Doctor Evidence have collaborated on a joint product that constitutes a powerful standardized method for evaluating clinical evidence for life science and payer organizations.

Collaboration between McMasters University and Doctor Evidence will yield a technology-enabled approach to every phase of systematic review development.

McMaster University is partnering with Doctor Evidence to incorporate the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) evidence rating methodology into the Doctor Evidence Comparative Effectiveness platform. This joint product will streamline the process of assessing the quality of clinical evidence for Life Science and Payer organizations.

The GRADE methodology gives researchers a powerful, standardized method for evaluating evidence and making recommendations. The Doctor Evidence technology organizes and normalizes clinical data, making it easier to apply the GRADE methodology. The collaboration will yield a technology-enabled approach to every phase of systematic review development: reviewing literature, analyzing clinical data, and evaluating the quality of the evidence to provide recommendations and key findings.

“The integration of GRADE into the Doctor Evidence platform further enhances the value and utility of the methodology for healthcare researchers and decision makers,” says Dr. Holger Schunemann, Chair of McMaster’s renowned Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics. “We expect that this partnership will accelerate the adoption of GRADE throughout healthcare and make GRADE more accessible to organizations outside of academia.”

“This partnership will support our mission to offer a comprehensive solution for evidence evaluation,” comments Robert Battista, CEO of Doctor Evidence. “Our product is perfectly designed to leverage the benefits of the GRADE methodology, while reducing the work effort our clients face in deploying new methods for evidence synthesis. We are excited to offer our clients this highly respected rubric for rating the quality of the body of evidence, which will lead to more precise clinical analysis and strengthen confidence in decision making.”
