Om Alliance is formed to spur innovation through integration among cloud computing companies delivering solutions for the publishing and media industries.

A consortium of Cloud Computing companies delivering solutions for the publishing and media industry announces the formation of Om Alliance.

The founding members are:

The goals of the Om Alliance are to:

  • deliver integration harmony between member systems so that media companies can choose the best-in-class vendor without facing compatibility issues
  • help develop open standards that reduce costs for everyone in the media ecosystem
  • educate the marketplace about what solutions are available today
  • provide actionable advice and guidance for proven solutions using cloud systems
  • set goals and monitor work by members to deliver integration

Om Alliance is not a marketing alliance. Members have to agree to mutual integration goals, and integrations are peer reviewed on their progress. True integration is not something done once – it’s an evolving process that enables entirely new applications and features.

Until now, incompatibilities between proprietary systems have forced publishers to sign up with several different email vendors to be able to use daily deals, lead generation or content platforms. With Om Alliance members, these incompatibility headaches are history. All Om Alliance members, for example, now support Contactology. This alone can save hundreds of hours of staff time while also providing the benefit of common analytics and reporting.
