GOAutoPlus.com would like to announce that Ford has acknowledged their support for a bill put forth by Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D., N.Y.) that bans the use of handheld cellphones while driving.

According to The Detroit Free Press, Ford’s vice president of government affairs, Pete Lawson, said that this “represents a practical, commonsense approach to a national problem.”

Ford and Lawson continued by saying, “Distracted driving is an important issue, and that’s why Ford became the first automaker to support proposed legislation banning handheld texting while driving in 2009 and why we are proud to support Rep. McCarthy’s legislation that will ban using handheld devices while driving.”

GOAutoPlus.com is very happy to be associated with Ford and is proud of their decision to support this worthy cause. GOAutoPlus.com includes many Ford dealerships in Wisconsin and sells a variety of new cars in Wisconsin and used cars in Wisconsin.
