Chairman of The RMP Group and co-founder of AP Capital Partners, Richard M. Powell, was one of the presenters at the Capital Roundtable conference on PE Investing in Middle-Market Defense & Other Government Services Companies in New York City on July 14, 2011.
This all-NEW conference features 20 knowledgeable private equity experts in the defense and government services sector, including GPs, portfolio company operating executives, investment bankers, lenders, consultants, and more. They shared their real-world perspectives, lessons learned, and industry outlooks, including insights on recent deal activity and managing current portfolio companies.
AP Capital Partners owns a number of portfolio companies and their most successful deal was the purchase and subsequent sale of ZeroChaos, an IT outsourcing firm based in Orlando, Florida. ZeroChaos grew from just over $60 million in revenue to just under $1 billion during the 7 years that AP Capital owned the business. The company was sold in November 2010, generating a significant return for all investors in AP Capital Partners main fund.

Richard M. Powell was born in Jamaica and graduated from Harvard University. AP Capital Partners a leading middle- market private equity firm based in Orlando, Florida. APCP’s portfolio companies have grown to generate annual revenues in excess of US $1 billion and employ over 6000 people around the globe. Prior to forming the firm in 2003, Mr. Powell was an Associate in the Emerging Markets Group at Bear Stearns. He has also had a stint in Corporate Finance at UBS Warburg.
